Vintage Jasperware Classic Blue & White Button by artisan Eunice Quinn, made in 1976.  The button bears her initials and date on the back. It will make a great addition to your button collection. It is from the Jane Scott Estate Collection.
The round button measures 1 ½ inch in diameter. The classic blue & white color combination depicts a fox looking up at hanging grapes. He is in front of a fence standing in a field.  What I find interesting is that I have a similar button, same scene, made years later, 1989 by another artisan. The difference is the original scene has ONLY the fox painted white.
All buttons may show some minor signs of age and wear, as it is 48 years old. Overall, it is in nice condition.
Scanning & photographing buttons have distinct limitations in the areas of perspective, color, details, and dimensions. The picture of the back of this button looks lighter in color that the front when it is the same classic blue.  Many buttons do not reveal their true character and appearance in the photos or scans. This particular button is a shade darker in reality than what is depicted in the photos.
Eunice Quinn (EQ) was from Wisconsin and began collecting buttons in 1951 and purchased her kiln in 1968. Made in imitation of Wedgwood Jasperware Eunice was one of the very early artist who perfected the process of making these buttons. Eunice Quinn died at age 84 in 1986.
